Forum Title: Carpet defect? Opinions appreciated.
Purchased and had carpet installed about a year ago. Elongated family room has one seam that I have located. However, recently in two separate areas, running parallel to the seam, I have discovered track marks or dashes running almost from wall to wall, even in non traffic areas. Carpet certainly wasn't the mercedes benz of carpets, but didn't expect to see this type of this this soon. Any ideas on what it could be and how I should address? Thanks!

That's definitely a manufacture defect in a stagger stitch carpet. It's been there since day 1. Sounds like a legitimate warranty claim to me.

Chicken tracks. Best way to deal with it is to get rid of the chickens. Just kidding. Contact retailer to have carpet inspected. An independent inspector likely will be sent out

After getting the defective inspection report the retailer will probably offer you a discount or allowance to accept and live with the defect. I recommend taking it !and treat yourself to a lobster dinner Mike
